The National Veterinary Physiology Quiz
of Madan Trophy For EDU-EXCEL competition
for students of B V Sc & A H is conducted
by the SAPI every year with basic objectives
of highlighting the importance of Physiology,
keep the students abreast of latest developments
in the field of Physiology and activities
of the Society of Animal Physiologists
of India (SAPI). Modalities The quiz shall
be held at three levels.
1.
College level: All the Veterinary
Colleges / Faculties shall hold a Veterinary
Physiology quiz competition after an announcement
from SAPI Head Office and winning team
shall qualify for zonal level competition.
The students of B V Sc & A H shall
be eligible for the quiz competition and
each team will comprise of 2 (two) members.
The SAPI life member / Representative
/ HOD of Veterinary Physiology of the
concerned college or his representative
shall organize this quiz as per format
given below.
2. Zonal Level: The country has
been divided in to four zones as follows
-
The States falling in different zones
are as follows:
a. North Zone Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal
Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh,
Uttrakhand, Delhi b. East Zone Bihar,
West Bengal, Assam, North Eastern States,
Jharkhand, Orissa c. West Zone Madhya
Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat,
Maharastra d. South Zone Karnataka, Tamil
Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, Simandhra, Puducherry
The colleges of different zone will compete
at the zonal level competiton and winner
of each zone shall qualify to participate
at National Veterinary Physiology Quiz
of Madan Trophy for EDU-EXCEL to be held
simultaneously each year with National
SAPI conference. The zonal level winner
will get the prize in form of a memento
and certificate.
The SAPI shall bear the expenses of the
best team from each zone to attend the
final event of quiz at venue of National
Seminar of SAPI each year in form of travelling
expenses, boarding and lodging etc. (only
sleeper class Rly. fare is admissible)
Format of Veterinary Physiology Quiz competition
The decisions of quiz master shall be
final. There will be five rounds of quiz
and each round shall consist of minimum
2 set of questions.
Round 1 : Direct Question round (questions
from UNIT 1 and 2)
Round
2 : Direct Question round (questions from
UNIT 3 and 4)
Round
3 : Audio visual round from complete syllabus.
Round 4 : Clinical applications of Physiology
and Misc.
Round 5 : Rapid fire round of 60 seconds
duration consisting of yes/no answer without
passing to next team.
Right
answer carrying 10 (ten) marks and wrong
answer carrying (-) 5 (minus five). Time
to reply each question shall be 40 seconds
and 20 seconds for pass questions. Marks
shall be half for pass questions. Each
answered question shall carry 10 marks,
while answering passed question team will
get 5 marks.
[N.B.: Organizer from respective colleges
/ zonal level can modify this basic guideline
as per their suitability and convenience.

Rules and Regulations for National
level Competition
General
1.
The winner of Quiz team will be awarded
running MADAN Trophy for Edu-Excel. The
Trophy shall be in the custody of the
Institute for the period of one year or
till next conference whichever is earlier.
The representative faculty of the winning
Institute will give an undertaking on
behalf of the Institute to return the
Trophy for the next conference. A replica
of the trophy will be provided to the
winner team which will be kept in their
institute.
2. Only Zonal winners team shall participate
in the National Veterinary Physiology
Quiz Competition and the tam will be consists
of two students members only. Each team
shall report the organizer and have to
be seated at least 30 minutes before the
commencement of the quiz competition.
3. If a selected Zonal team not turning
up, organizers may decide to select one
wild card entry team from the same zone.
4. Replacement of any participant of a
team member is not allowed after registration
of names at the zonal level quiz competition.
5.
Prompting of hints or clue from other
source will lead to cancellation of the
team.
6. The team will be identified by their
institutions.
7.
Only the first attempt/answer will be
accepted from a team against one question.
8.
Participants are not allowed to use mobile
or any electronic aid/instruments.
9.
Inappropriate behavior of any team member
shall lead to punishment and elimination
of the team from contest.
10.
For all purposes decision of quiz master
shall be final, however in case of any
ambiguity/appeal, the decision of Referee/judge
shall binding to all.
11.
A demo will be displayed before commencement
of Quiz. Any confusion related to rule
should be clarified before commencement
of Quiz.
12.
There will be total 5 rounds. i. Direct
question-answer round - I ii. Direct question-answer
round - II iii. Spot your area round iv.
Audio-visual round and v. Rapid fire round
13.
There will be multiple choices for direct
question - answer rounds. If any answer,
in case of direct question, is disclosed
within stipulated time that question will
be cancelled and an alternate question
will be asked. In case of passing question
no alternate question will be asked in
the same situation.
14.
The starting team will be decided by lottery
in 1st round.
15.
Every question, except rapid fire round,
will be displayed on screen.
16.
If there is tie, there will be a tiebreaker
round amongst the teams.
17.
All the participant team and institute
must be bounded with rule and regulation
of SAPI.
1st Round (Direct question round -
I) 1. It will be a direct question
round where every team will be asked 2
MCQs with four options which will be displayed
on screen. 2. Each right answer will carry
+ 10 marks while for each wrong answer
5 marks will be deducted. 3. It is a passing
round where only the next team will get
chance to answer the passing questions
and so on. If there is two failed attempt
it will not be passed on to the follower
team. 4. Five bonus points will be awarded
for right answer of the passing while
for wrong answer 5 marks will be deducted.
2nd Round (Direct question round -
II) 1. It will be a direct question
round where every team will be asked 3
MCQs with four options which will be displayed
on screen. 2. In this round each team
has an opportunity to select the set of
questions carrying either ten (10) or
six (6) marks depending on weightage of
the questions. 3. Each right answer will
carry + 10 or +6 marks (as per the choice)
while for each wrong answer 5 marks will
be deducted if played for 10 or 3 marks
will be deducted if played for 6. 4. There
will be no passing or bonus point for
the next team.
3rd Round (Spot your area round)
1. There are five area for spotting 2.
First team can opt from 5 areas 3. Second
team can opt from rest 4 and so on
4. Top scorer of the 1st two rounds will
get first chance for option, followed
by 2nd team and so on. 5. Each team will
be asked 4 direct question, No pass 6.
All are MCQ type 7. Marks for such question
will carry (+) 10 for right answer or
(-) 5 for wrong answer. 8. Time will be
allowed only 10 sec.
4th Round (AV Round) 1. This is
an Audio-Visual Round. 2. This is a Buzzer
round. 3. Each right answer will carry
+ 10 marks while for each wrong answer
10 marks will be deducted.
5th Round (Rapid Fire Round) 1.
This is a Rapid Fire Round. 2. Top scorer
of the previous rounds will get first
chance face the rapid fire and so on.
3. Each team will be asked maximum 10
questions in 60 seconds. 4. Marks for
such question will carry (+) 10 for right
answer or (-) 5 for wrong answer. 5. For
passing of question, no marks will be
deducted and the passed questions will
be asked again within the stipulated time.
